Beautiful quilts as always Emma. Just a couple of suggestions from what I have observed. 1. Please be careful when ironing and having your cutting mat under your wool pressing mat. The heat gets trapped and it will warp your cutting mat. I found that out the hard way and it warped my cutting mat AND my table 🤦🏼‍♀️ 2. Get some gardening gloves that have some bumpy dots on them. It will help you move your quilt while quilting and reduce your arm and wrist strain. Finally, I love your new studio!! It looks so beautiful and peaceful! Keep up the good work! You are doing great!!

Do you bother with the fabric direction or do you simply place the Hexiform anywhere you like on the fabric? I'm a bit obsessive about following the straight grain, but that's perhaps from dressmaking, mainly in the past. I've noticed a lot of RUclipsrs doing patchwork don't seem to worry about whether the fabric is up or down or on the cross. Quite a lot of fabric has a directional print as well.

Having your sashing between the blocks smoother with fewer puckers would have helped it be smoother, although after its first washing you probably won't be able to see the puckers.

Emma - thank you for , especially, this video. All of your videos are lovely and inspiring, but this one went right to my heart. I have worked with many different mediums in art, especially in fiberarts, but it wasn’t until I came back to embroidery and hand stitching that I felt like I had arrived “home”. Your wisdom in the healing power of this craft, for me, has been so true. I also am a worrier, and good moods can evaporate suddenly, like fog over the ocean. Taking some cloth and thread up in my hands, watching something beautiful appear - and the sun comes out! Thank you particularly for sharing your true feelings and being vulnerable so openly. May you find hope and understanding in this world that you are creating, here online - but mostly, in your home and family. Blessings to you.
